LANCASTER, PA- The Bryn Mawr College indoor track and field team competed on Sunday afternoon at Franklin and Marshall College in the Centennial Conference Championships. The Owls had a strong showing with a podium finish in the high jump and personal bests from several athletes. The team finished in 9th place at the end of the two-day competition.
Jess Johnson reached new heights in the high jump as the Owls closed out the final day of the Centennial Conference Championships. Johnson came in at 1.39m and cleared the height with ease. Johnson went on to clear 1.44m, 1.49m, and finally 1.54m all on her first attempts. This final clear was not only a new personal record but also earned the junior her first medal of the Centennial Conference Championships.

SPRINTS/HURDLES: Awurabena Anane earned a spot in the 60m finals for the first time in her career as an Owl. She returned to the track on Sunday to claim a 7th place finish and personal record with a time of 8.14s. To finish the open events in the sprints, was the pair of Anane and Novy Goetgeluk. After a long weekend on the track, Anane ran 27.82s in the 200m, and Goetgeluk finished with a time of 27.58s for a new season best.

ENDURANCE: Lauren Kitay returned to the track in her first open event of the Championships, looking for yet another personal record in the Mile. Kitay ran strong into the front pack during the first heat of the mile, finding a comfortable position in third throughout the early laps. Kitay made a great move to pass into second with three laps to go, before gaining the lead in the last 400m. She secured a win in the heat with a time of 5:15. Kitay's effort improved upon her personal record from two weeks ago at the Armory. She returned in the afternoon to race the final heat of the 800m with teammate Malin Just. Just finished in 7th place, with Kitay in 9th place. Eva Ackley had a personal record in the 3k with a time of 11:20.32.

JUMPS: Three different Owls began Sunday's competition in the long jump. Dahlia Nemes's best jump took her 4.16m into the pit. Molly Fancher ended her series with a mark of 4.52m. Johnson jumped 4.86m to fight for a spot in the finals. Fancher finished 9th overall with a jump of 4.86m. In the high jump, Johnson jumped clean over her first four heights which earned the junior a silver medal in the event.

RELAYS: The 4x400m team of Mika Heshiki, Kitay, Just, and Goetgeluk bested both Swarthmore and McDaniel Colleges for an 8th place finish to earn the Owls' final point of the Indoor Championships. The time of 4:19 set by the quartet in their first outing together was also a season best by 12 seconds.
The Owls finished the Indoor Championship season in 9th place, with a score of 25 points. This is the best finish by the Owls since 2022 and the most points scored since the 2021 Indoor Championships. Keep up with Bryn Mawr track and field by following @bmcathletics on social media.
