HAVERFORD, PA -The Bryn Mawr track and field team traveled to Haverford College on Saturday morning to compete in the Seamus McElligott Invitational, delivering strong performances across all event groups.
Highlights
- SPRINTS: Shelbey Lu recorded a season-best time of 8.88 in the 60m dash, while Breia Vann-Crump finished second with a time of 8.29. Mika Heshiki competed in the 60m hurdles and secured a 2nd place finish. Four Owls took to the track in the 200m sprint, led by Lu's 6th place finish (29.36), followed closely by Heshiki (29.66), Dalia Nemes (30.19), and first-year Allie Lawson (30.61).
- DISTANCE: Three Owls competed in the 800m, with all three earning personal records. Rosa Carbon led Bryn Mawr with a first-place finish in her heat and a PR time of 2:42.19. Alyson Bostrom followed with a time of 2:50.76, while senior Natasha Kwiatkowski rounded out the event in 2:52.91. Sofie Prieto was the lone Owl in the mile, posting a season-best time of 5:59.88. In the 3000m, Eva Ackley, Emma Smirk, and Mckayla Reyer all impressed. Ackley led the group with a fifth-place finish in 11:40.84, while Smirk and Reyer each recorded personal bests of 12:49.31 and 12:51.61, respectively.
- JUMPS: Senior Jess Johnson opened the jumps for Bryn Mawr in the triple jump, finishing second with a mark of 9.96m. Nemes followed in the long jump, earning a 9th place finish with a jump of 3.66m.
- THROWS: Sophomore Lauren Pritt delivered a strong performance in the shot put, earning a personal record mark of 6.63m and a 14th place finish.
- RELAYS: In the 4x200m relay, the team of Vann-Crump, Johnson, Awurabena Anane, and Heshiki placed second overall with a time of 1:52.94.
