READING, PA- Bryn Mawr track and field traveled to Alvernia University on Saturday morning to compete at the PLEX Shootout. The Owls had a strong showing against a competitive field and walked away with a 7
th place finish.
Highlights:
- SPRINTS: Sophomore Breia Vann-Crump led the Owls in the sprints, clocking a personal-best 8.04 in the 60m dash prelims to qualify for finals. Vann-Crump later recorded a time of 8.14 in the 60m finals and added another personal record finish in the 200m (27.54). Classmate Shelbey Lu posted a time of 8.89 in the 60 meters, while sophomore Alyson Bostrom competed in the 400 meters, finishing in 1:12.64.
- DISTANCE: In the 800 meters, junior Cora Rosin paced Bryn Mawr with a time of 2:47.00, followed by sophomore Madelynne Johns at 2:59.72. The Owls also competed in the mile, led by senior Eva Ackley (5:43.81). Senior Sofie Prieto and sophomore Rosa Carbon both recorded season-bests, finishing in 5:58.44 and 6:02.08 respectively.
- JUMPS: Senior Jess Johnson highlighted the field events with a season-best clearance of 1.50m in the high jump. Johnson also recorded a mark of 5.12m in the long jump. Junior Molly Fancher followed with a leap of 4.71m in the long jump. In the triple jump, Johnson posted 10.71m, while Fancher added 9.89m
- THROWS: Junior Lauren Pritt represented Bryn Mawr in the weight throw, recording a mark of 5.78 meters.
- RELAYS: Bryn Mawr closed the meet with three 4x400m relay teams. The squad of Lu, Allie Lawson, Mika Heshiki, and Dahlia Nemes finished in 4:50.21.
