Fit Club

The Bryn Mawr College Fit Club encourages students, faculty and staff to strive for better fitness and improved total body health through a variety of class offerings and fitness education. Our purpose is to promote overall wellness, and to support a healthy lifestyle for our entire community. To help foster a balanced and healthy campus community, the Department of Athletics and Physical Education is excited to offer drop-in group exercise classes. All Bryn Mawr College students, faculty, staff, and alumnae/i members are invited to participate in our Fit Club classes.

Class Descriptions

Yoga: Please join Courtney on Mondays and Fridays at noon year-round for a Hybrid Yoga experience! Members who wish to join in person are welcome in the multi-purpose room in Schwartz. Those who would rather join remotely can log on to the following Zoom links and participate from their home or office. All levels welcome!

Indoor Cycling: A big cardio blast! Join Danielle for a 45-minute Indoor Cycling class that will challenge your cardiovascular fitness level and build your leg strength. No specific gear required – cycling shoes with SPD clips are welcome, as are strong-soled sneakers. These classes will be held in the multi-purpose room in Schwartz. All levels welcome!

Strength and Movement: Please join Erika for our brand new class! Strength and Movement is an hour of joyful, music-filled, beginner-friendly, full body exercise. Erika will combine stretching, mobility, calisthenics, cardio, and weight-lifting exercises to leave participants feeling sweaty and satisfied after the class. This class operates upon the belief that weight lifting and cardio are for everyone. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced lifter, you will leave class feeling challenged and more grounded in your body. Throughout the class, Erika will offer positive words of encouragement, modifications for any injuries or discomfort, and concrete tips for how to improve your technique.

Pilates: This is a classic Mat Pilates practice. Please join Nikki each week to learn about the foundational principles of Pilates, and utilize postures and breath control to improve your balance, flexibility, and core strength. Pilates has been shown to offer physical pain relief, and can reduce overall stress while improving mental well-being. No experience is required; this class is open to all levels of experience and fitness.

Strength and Balance: Join Priscilla for a fun-filled Strength & Balance combo class on Wednesdays from 11:00-12:00pm. Strength & Balance promises to give your body the workout you need - and the workout you didn't even know you were looking for! We'll work with weights, plates, balls and ropes to gain strength and more muscle definition. Then we'll use our own bodies to flow through balance practices meant to deepen our connection to core and stability.  This class is sure to help you get stronger and be more agile on your feet every day.
