COLLEGEVILLE, PA- The Bryn Mawr College indoor track and field team competed at the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by several season best and personal record performances across the sprints, distance events, and field competitions.
Highlights:
- SPRINTS/HURDLES: In the 60m dash, senior Jess Johnson led the Owls with a time of 8.48. Dahlia Nemes earned a personal record in the event and Shelbey Lu followed closely behind, each clocking 8.80. In the 200m event, Mika Heshiki and Lu each clocked season best performances, finishing in 28.71 and 29.13 respectively.
- DISTANCE: Bryn Mawr saw strong showings in the distance races, led by sophomore Alyson Bostrom, who ran a season best 2:45.63 in the 800m. Senior Natasha Kwiatkowski followed closely with a personal best 2:45.82, while junior Cora Rosin crossed the line in 2:46.70. In the mile, sophomore Rosa Carbon recorded a season best of 6:01.27. Junior Mckayla Reyer turned in a personal record performance in the 3000m, finishing in 12:33.39. Senior Eva Ackley paced the Owls in the 5k with a time of 20:05.65, while sophomore Emma Smirk notched a personal record of 21:54.32.
- JUMPS: Johnson added a season best in the high jump, clearing 1.50 meters to lead the Owls in the event. Nemes competed in the long jump, earning a season best (3.89m). Johnson and Molly Fancher turned out impressive performances in the triple jump. Johnson captured first place with a season best mark of 10.89m, earning the senior a 79th-place national ranking in Division III. Fancher's mark of 10.09m earned her a 4th place finish and a season best.
- THROWS: In the weight throw, Lauren Pritt recorded a personal best with a mark of 6.06m. Â
The Owls return to the track on Friday, February 20
