GETTYSBURG, PA- Bryn Mawr College track & field competed at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday, turning in personal bests, strong preliminary performances, and points-scoring efforts.Â
Highlights:
- SPRINTS: The Owls saw a solid showing in the sprint events, led by junior Awurabena Anane, who clocked a season-best 13.36 in the 100m prelims. Shelbey Lu (13.66) and Dahlia Nemes (13.83) also posted competitive times, while Kayla Spencer rounded out the group in 14.47. In the hurdles, sophomore Mika Heshiki advanced out of the 100m hurdles prelims, qualifying for tomorrow's finals with a time of 16.84. She returned in the 400m hurdles and delivered a personal-best performance of 1:12.40.
- DISTANCE: Mckayla Reyer represented Bryn Mawr in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing in 13:34.54 to cap a strong effort in one of the meet's most demanding events.
- JUMPS: Senior Jess Johnson led the way with a points-scoring performance in the long jump, placing sixth with a mark of 5.06m. Johnson also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.42m. Molly Fancher added a mark of 4.53m in the long jump, while Nemes recorded a 3.96m effort.
- RELAYS: The relay squad of Eva Ackley, Sofie Prieto, Rosa Carbon and Cora Rosin clocked in a time of 10:54.50 in the 4x800m event to round out the day for Bryn Mawr.
