ANNVILLE, PA – Bryn Mawr track & field opened their outdoor season on Saturday at the Blue & White Open, hosted by Lebanon Valley College. The Owls put together a solid season debut, highlighted by six top-10 finishes and multiple personal records across the meet.
Highlights:
- SPRINTS/HURDLES: Junior Awurabena Anane (13.65) and sophomore Shelbey Lu (14.11) kicked off the day in the 100m, placing 14th and 19th, respectively. The duo returned in the 200m alongside Kayla Spencer (30.16) and Allie Lawson (30.63), with Anane once again leading the Owls with a 14th-place finish. Lu recorded personal records in both the 100m and 200m. Spencer was the lone Owl in the 400m, finishing 13th in 1:11.88. Mika Heshiki delivered a standout performance in the hurdles, placing 5th in the 100m hurdles (17.24). She followed with a PR in the 400m hurdles (1:13.00), earning 6th place, while Dahlia Nemes (1:19.66) secured 8th.
- DISTANCE: Rosa Carbon turned in a strong race in the 1500m, finishing 9th with a PR of 5:33.39. Cora Rosin followed closely behind in 12th (5:41.69). In the 3000m, Eva Ackley led the Owls with an 8th-place finish (11:35.27), while Sofie Prieto (12:13.29) and Emma Smirk (12:59.76) also competed.
- JUMPS: Jess Johnson, Molly Fancher, and Dahlia Nemes represented Bryn Mawr in the long jump, with Johnson leading the group in 11th, followed by Fancher (12th) and Nemes (22nd). Johnson recorded the Owls' top finish of the meet in the triple jump, placing 2nd with a mark of 10.30m. Fancher also impressed, finishing 4th at 10.01m.
- THROWS: Lauren Pritt rounded out the meet with a personal-best throw of 20.02m in the javelin.
