The Owls faced a difficult task, taking on the top team in the Centennial Conference, but Bryn Mawr hung in and continued to battle the entire 90 minutes. Aviva Kosansky had a splendid final game as senior goalkeeper for the Owls, racking up nine saves on the evening. The Garnet (14-1-1, 8-0-1 CC) got on the board twice in the first ten minutes, starting the game in lightning fashion. Bryn Mawr (3-14, 1-9 CC) managed to keep Swarthmore at bay right out of the gate with two quick saves, but the hosts' Katie Dougherty finally broke through on the Garnet's third shot of the night. In fact, it was Dougherty who scored both of Swarthmore's first two goals of the game, giving her ten goals on the season.
