CARLISLE, PA- The Bryn Mawr soccer team continued Centennial Conference play on Saturday afternoon, taking on Dickinson on the road at Miller Memorial Field. Despite a strong showing from the Owls' defense and goalkeepers, a second-half surge from the Red Devils proved decisive as Bryn Mawr fell 4-0.
Highlights:
- The Owls put together a disciplined defensive effort throughout the opening 45 minutes, holding Dickinson scoreless through the first half behind a standout performance from goalkeeper Lily Blackman. The first-year keeper made eight saves in the first period alone, turning away multiple shots from close range and controlling the box against a relentless Red Devils attack that generated 19 attempts before halftime.
- Bryn Mawr's back line—anchored by Hailey Ferrier, Alexandra Morales, Lanie Thompson, and Aurora Gutterman-Johns —held firm under pressure, clearing numerous dangerous chances to keep the match level at 0-0 entering the break.
- The Red Devils broke through in the 61st minute when Joelle Ma converted a penalty kick to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Despite the goal, the Owls continued to fight, with Beatriz da Silva forcing a save in the 53rd minute for Bryn Mawr's lone shot on target.
- Blackman finished the day with 12 total saves, while sophomore Maeve Slemko made two key stops in a first-half relief appearance to combine for 14 team saves.
