Owls Take Advantage of Final Regular Season Meet

HAVERFORD, PA – Earlier Saturday, the Owls competed in the Keogh Invitational held at Haverford College in their final regular meet of the 2024-25 season. Novy Goetgeluk continued to build momentum this weekend, improving her 60m dash time to 8.40 seconds after qualifying for the Centennial Conference Championships last weekend. She then hit a season-best of 27.94 seconds to also secure her championship spot in the 200m. Colby Rossmassler also punched their ticket to the championships with a season-best of 1.32m in the high jump. Two fellow seniors, Kayla Camille and Lauren Kitay, delivered standout performances. Camille set a personal best of 8.46 seconds in the 60m dash and Kitay achieved a personal record (PR) of 2:21.15 in the 800m, further lowering her previous qualifying time.

Highlights:
  • SPRINTS/HURDLES: In the early morning sprints, Goetgeluk and Camille both set new marks on the season. Goetgeluk set a season best (8.39s), as did Jess Johnson (8.40s), while Camille ran a new PR of 8.46s. Goetgeluk went on to qualify for championships in the 200m in her first attempt of the season, while first-year Shelbey Lu set a PR in the 200m (30.13).
  • JUMPS: Rossmassler returned to the high jump and qualified on their first attempt, jumping 1.32m while first-year Dahlia Nemes also earned a PR in the event (1.22m). Johnson finished the regular season with a 3rd place finish in the triple jump (10.11m) and a 4th place finish in the long jump (4.78m). Teammate Molly Fancher finished 10th in the long jump (4.46m).
  • THROWS: Senior Nora Steil was the lone Owl in the circle this weekend, finishing in the shot put with an attempt of 9.02m.
  • DISTANCE: Eva Ackley led out the milers, finishing in 4th place with a time of 5:44.61. Kitay finished in 4th place and earned a PR in the 800m. Her time of 2:21.15 is the fastest time of the season for an Owl. Cora Rosin (2:41.04) hit a season best in the 800m. Senior Sohini Sarkar landed one of the biggest PRs of the season in the 3k to round out the open events. Sarkar dropped 39s off her PR from last weekend and finished with a time of 12:43.90.
  • RELAYS: The team of Ackley, Rosin, Emma Smirk, and Sarkar ran the 4x4 relay in a time of 5:09.42.
