Box Score BRYN MAWR, PA. – The Bryn Mawr tennis team put together a strong showing on Thursday afternoon, taking on Division II West Chester in a non-conference matchup at home. Despite earning the early doubles point and a pair of singles victories, the Owls were edged by the Golden Rams in a tight 4-3 decision.
Highlights:
- Bryn Mawr started the day with impressive play in doubles. The duos of Kelli Eng and Claire Emmanuel, and Bianca Vesuna and Shay Villegas secured match wins.
- Eng and Emanuel earned a 6-2 victory at No.2 to secure the opening point for the Owls.
- Sophie Fenster earned a straight-set win at the top spot with a 6-0, 6-4 decision over Delaney Tingle.
- Gandakusuma fought hard at No.4 singles, dropping 6-0, 6-4, but battled hard.
- First-year Vesuna fought at No.5 singles and battled in a tie-break. Vesuna walked away with a 6-1 win in the first set, and secured finished 10-5 in the tie-break to win the match.
