BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr tennis team opened its fall season with a 5-2 win over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday morning. The Owls secured the victory in all three doubles matches before carrying the momentum into four victories in singles play.
 
Highlights:

• No. 2 doubles Bianca Vesuna and Ayanat Tolen secured a 6-3 victory over Rutgers-Camden's Jill Jaugan and Liz Brown to take the early lead. Claire Emanuel and Sonya Shutka secured the doubles point for the Owls with a 6-4 win at No. 1. A win by default for Coco Tongxin and Mia Schreader at No. 3 secured the doubles sweep.
• Tolen dominated at No. 4 singles to continue the momentum for Bryn Mawr, taking a 6-0, 6-1 win against Elif Ozbay.
• Vesuna made it 3-0 for the Owls with a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Jaugan in the No. 2 singles match.
• Shutka clinched the match for the Owls at No. 3 singles, securing a 6-2, 6-1 win over Leila O'Brien.
• Emanuel (No. 1) and Schreader (No. 5) each dropped their matches in a third set tiebreaker.

 
The Owls are back in action on Thursday, September 17 as they host Lebanon Valley at 4 p.m.
