9/16/2023 5:43:00 PM

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SCRANTON, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr tennis program competed in their first matches of the 2023 season earlier Saturday in a double header at Scranton University and Marywood University. Despite the long day of tennis and limited court time due to weather, the Owls pulled out two wins.

Highlights:
  • Kelli Eng '26 went perfect on the day to earn four wins. At Scranton, Eng competed at No. 3 doubles with Gioanna Zhao '26 and No. 4 singles. Against Marywood, the sophomore competed at No. 2 doubles with Wynn Bryant '24 and No. 2 singles.
  • Bryant overcame two tough singles opponents but won both matches in two sets. The senior competed in No. 2 singles at Scranton and later at No. 1 singles against Marywood.
  • First-year Michelle Han made her debut with the Owls as she won two doubles matches with Sophie Fenster '26 who recently returned from an injury which caused the sophomore to be out most of last season.
  • Han also won her first singles match with the Owls, competing at No. 5 to win in two sets.
  • Fenster brought in her own win at No. 1 singles at Scranton (7-6, 6-4).
  • Overall, Bryn Mawr recorded a 7-2 win at both Scranton and Marywood.
The volume of tennis this Saturday proved to benefit the team as they will be back next weekend to compete in three matches in the span of 24 hours.
