Box Score CARLISE, Pa. – The Owls' tennis program competed in one of their toughest matches of the season early Saturday afternoon against the Red Devils of Dickinson. In doubles, the Owls' first and second teams fought from behind to earn a 2-1 lead going into singles. Bryn Mawr won four of the six singles matches with Kelly Cole '24 clinching victory for the Owls (6-3) to earn the team's first conference win of the season. Even more impressively, Saturday's match also marked the first win over Dickinson since the 2002-03 season.

Doubles:
  • Graduate student Nicole Lim and Fernanda Hurtado '25 at first doubles took an early 5-0 lead, but eventually found themselves down 5-7. Yet, the Owls refused to let up another game and went on to win the match (8-7).
  • At second doubles, Wynn Bryant '24 and Lowrey West '25 remained behind in games against the Red Devils until they tied the match 7-7. Battling it out in a tiebreak, the Owls took their second win of the day.
  • Kelli Eng '26 and Lilly Pfister '25 at third doubles battled hard but fell 8-2.
  • The Owls went into singles with a 2-1 lead.
Singles
  • After losing the first set, Lim at first singles won the next two sets (1-6, 6-3, 6-2).
  • Second singles player Bryant won her first set 6-3. However, Red Devil Ariana Goitz won the next two sets to win the match.
  • West had a tough day against her Red Devil opponent at third singles and lost 6-1, 6-1.
  • Fourth singles player Hurtado refused to let up a single game against her opponent and quickly won her second match of the day (6-0, 6-0).
  • The Owls only needed one more match to win the day and it would be fifth singles player Cole who clinched the match. The junior won the first set 6-4 but was unable to close the second set to take the match into a third set. Cole proved herself relentless and won the third set 6-3 to claim the match for Bryn Mawr.
  • The Owls brought in one more win against the Red Devils thanks to Eng at sixth singles (7-5, 6-4).
Bryn Mawr not only earned their first conference win of the season at 6-3, but their win proved momentous as the Bryn Mawr tennis program triumphed over Dickinson for the first time since the 2002-03 season.

The Owls will return on Tuesday for a home match against Gettysburg.
