MALVERN, Pa. - The Owls tennis team was back in action on Friday afternoon, with Bryn Mawr picking up a huge 8-1 win over Immaculata to cap off the week. Seven different Owls got at least one win on the day as Bryn Mawr picked up their first team win since October 5, 2019.

Bryn Mawr was dominant in doubles, going 3-0 in the format. Wynn Bryant and Lily Randolph paired up at first singles to take am 8-4 win. Fernanda Hurtado and Lowrey West completely clobbered their opponents at second doubles, winning by an 8-0 scoreline, while Jojo Greenberg and Kelly Cole breezed through third doubles by an 8-2 score.

Looking to keep the momentum rolling, the Owls continued to cruise in singles. Four different Bryn Mawr players won their matches while only losing three games or less. Wynn Bryant took a 6-2, 6-1 win at the top singles spot while West and Hurtado each won their fourth and fifth singles matches by scores of 6-0, 6-2. Fellow first-year Lilly Pfister had perhaps the best showing of the bunch, completely overwhelming her opponent in sixth singles by a 6-0, 6-1 score. Randolph gave Bryn Mawr their eighth point of the day, battling through a difficult first set to take a 7-5 win before cruising to a 6-1 win in set two in second singles. Bryn Mawr nearly got the 9-0 sweep, as Cole won her first set at third singles 6-2. However, she was unable to win the second frame, and then lost an incredibly tight tiebreaker by a 10-8 score.

With the win, the Owls move to 1-1 in fall play. They are scheduled to be back in action next weekend at the Goucher Invitational.
