Box Score 2 UTICA, N.Y. - The Bryn Mawr volleyball team dropped two matches in road tri-match action on Saturday against host Utica College, 0-3 (14-25, 6-25, 9-25) and SUNY Delhi 0-3 (13-25,18-25, 19-25). The Owls slip to 1-16 overall following today's matches.
In the opening match against Utica College, a kill by Jessie Zong from Nolan Julien was the first play of the day placing the Owls at 1-0. As the match went on Bryn Mawr swiftly found themselves trailing by 4 (1-5), but still in reach of the Pioneers. A kill from Jocelyn Bravo was just what the Owls needed to recover from the early deficit. Thereafter the two teams rallied back and forth, each going on a three point run. Bryn Mawr's run was powered by errors on behalf of Utica, and kills from Delia Landers and Camille Baechler (6-9). The Owls battled hard in the opening set of the day however it was Utica who closed out the frame with a score of 14-25, after a 7 point run by the Pioneers.
Bryn Mawr had lost their early momentum from the first set, and it was evident in the second and third sets of the match. Utica dominated the second set with a 16 point run. The team went on to win the set 25-6. The final set of the day was very similar, Utica College controlled the pace of the game and closed out the frame with 25-9 and a 3-0 win over the Owls.
Camille Baechler led the Owls with 5 kills, a hitting percentage of .214, and 7 digs. Nolan Julien had 11 assists and tied with both Camille Baechler and Jessie Zong with 7 digs.

The second match of the day against SUNY Delhi was a much more competitive match for the Owls. In set one the Owls battled to a 2-2 tie thanks to a kill from Jessie Zong. SUNY Delhi quickly picked up the pace thereafter leaving the Owls behind and closing out the set with a 25-13 win over the Owls.
In the second set errors on behalf of SUNY Delhi gave the Owls their first lead of the game 4-3. SUNY Delhi responded with a kill from Taylor Tsatsis placing the teams at an early 4-4 tie. The teams rallied back and forth but it was SUNY Delhi who went on a 7 point run, and later closed out the set with a 25-18 win over the Owls.
The third set was the closest frame for the two teams. Bryn Mawr gained an early lead over SUNY Delhi thanks to two kills from Camille Baechler, placing the teams at 3-1, and giving the Owls yet another lead in the match. Errors on behalf of SUNY Delhi favored the Owls and increased the gap even further, giving the Owls their largest lead of the match 8-4. The two teams battled to the finish being within points of each other; it was anyone's match to win. Bryn Mawr was powered by kills thanks to Jessie Zong, Camille Baechler and Jocelyn Bravo and looked to gain their first win of the game however it was SUNY Delhi who closed out the set with a win (25-19) thanks to two back to back kills from Sarah Clapper and Taylor Tsatsis.
Camille Baechler led the Owls with 8 kills, a hitting percentage of .222, and 8 digs. Jocelyn Bravo followed behind with three kills for the Owls. Nolan Julien had 14 assists and six digs in the match. Jessie Zong was another great defensive player for the Owls today with 7 digs.
Bryn Mawr will be back in action next Thursday night for another tri-match against Marywood and Clarks Summit.
