Bryn Mawr Battles Red Devils in Tough Contest

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr tennis team faced off against Dickinson earlier Sunday afternoon in a Centennial Conference contest. The Owls put up a great fight, winning matches in both singles and doubles, but came up just short in a tough 7-2 loss to the Red Devils.

The hosts picked up wins at the top two doubles spots to open the match, but Bryn Mawr battled back in third doubles to take a point for themselves. Mariam Haider and Kendall Baller paired up to topple their Dickinson opponents by an 8-6 score in that match to draw the Owls back within one heading into singles.

Bryn Mawr would pick up another win in singles thanks to a great effort from Lizzie Siegle. The sophomore put together a terrific match at second singles, playing solid tennis to topple Dickinson's Sydney Diamond by a 6-3, 6-2 scoreline.

However, the hosts hung on to win the remaining five matches to claim the 7-2 victory on the day. Bryn Mawr got great efforts from each of their players throughout the match, but simply couldn't find enough points to get past their league foes.

The Owls will close out this incredibly long road trip with one last game at nearby Swarthmore on Thursday the 21st. That match is slated to start at 4:00 PM. Then, Bryn Mawr will wrap up their season with three straight home matches, starting on Saturday with a contest against McDaniel at 1:00 PM.
