Tennis Claims 6-2 Victory in Fall Finale

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Visiting Bryn Mawr College tennis team closed out their Fall portion of their 2013-14 season with a 6-2 win over Immaculata Wednesday afternoon in non-league action.

The Owls opened the match by posting a pair of victories in doubles action. The senior duo of Vivien Chen and Eliza Perocchi rolled past Julie Einwechter and Lauren Degnan 8-1. The No. 2 tandem of senior classmates Catherine Austin and Jenny Vogel defeated Theresa Martini and Paige Sparks 8-2.

In singles play, Vogel won her No. 2 match over Nicole Burely 60, 6-1, while Perocchi defeated Einwechter in straight sets 6-0, 6-0, in the third slot. From the fifth position Austin downed Martini 6-4, 6-2, while junior Chloe Barron won her No. 6 match over Jenna Fratterelli 6-1, 6-1. The win was Barron's first of the fall in her debut at the No. 6 position.

In the fourth position, sophomore Kendall Baller won her opening set over Anna Kambouroglos 7-5 and the second set was tied at 3-3 but was eventually called due to darkness.

Tennis will resume in the Spring as they will travel for their annual Spring Break Training Trip.
