Tennis Defeats Arcadia 6-3

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College tennis picked-up their third win in six days Tuesday afternoon as they defeated Arcadia 6-3 in the non-league tilt.

The owls took two-of-three in doubles before adding four more victories in singles action to pick-up their third win of the season.

The No. 1 tandem of seniors Vivien Chen and Eliza Perocchi blanked Kaila Gaughan and Justine Sawyer 8-0 to get the day started right. The No 2 duo of senior classmates Catherine Austin and Jenny Vogel won their match 8-5 over Allyson Naiken and Jasime Peake.

In singles action, Chen downed Gaughan 6-2, 6-1, from the No. 1 positions while Vogel doubled-up Naiken 6-2, 6-2.

Perocchi won her No. 3 battle with Peake 6-1, 6-2 and Austin was also a double winner from the fifth spot as she topped Danielle Riggins 7-5, 6-1.

The win moves Bryn Mawr to 3-1. Their fall portion of their season comes to an end when they travel to Immaculata University on Wednesday, Oct. 9, for a 4:00 pm match with the Mighty Macs.
