Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa.– Natalie Chrismer and Kathleen Magner each recorded a pair of goals, but it wasn't enough as the Owls fell to arch rival Haverford, 5-17, Thursday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
Chrismer scored the game's first goal when she took the ball from the top of the 8-meter and flung it past Leah Hammerschlag to give the Yellow and White the early 1-0 lead.
The Fords countered with 11 goals over the final 26:17 of the half to take a commanding 11-1 lead into the intermission.
Haverford tacked on another goal to start the second-half before Miranda Gordon-Zigel netted her only goal of the game at 25:57.
Following a Haverford goal by Megan Gallagher, Magner found the back of the net way of a free position shot to cut their deficit to ten, 3-13.
The Fords tacked on three more goals before Chrismer scored her second goal of the game on a free position shot at 8:58. On the ensuing draw, Magner took possession of the ball at midfield and sprinted towards the net. She unloaded a shot that whizzed by Haverford's goalie, Margaret Perkoff.
With just over one minute to play, Haverford added their 17th and final goal of the game while picking up their fifth win of the season and third in league action.
Leading the Fords on the day was Gallagher with five goals as nine others found the back of the net.
Gordon-Zigel got the start in goal and turned away one shot before Kate Flaming replaced her in the fourth minute of action and posted six saves. Gordon-Zigel ended the day with five draws and one ground ball. Magner added six draws as Mae Carlson and Tonya Hamid scooped-up two ground balls.
Bryn Mawr is back to action a week from today when they travel to Immaculata for a non-conference tilt with the Mighty Macs on Thursday, April 12. Opening draw is set for 6:00 pm.
