ST. DAVIDS, PA — Bryn Mawr headed down the road to Eastern on Saturday to compete in an afternoon game at Olson Field. The Owls managed two player-up goals, yet turnovers and Eastern's offensive surge ultimately led to a 20-5 win for the home team.
How It Happened:
- Bryn Mawr initiated the game with Elliott Bishop securing the draw control, setting the stage for an early offensive effort. Eastern managed the first two goals, but Bryn Mawr's persistence was rewarded when Maeve DeLisle scored a player-up goal at 7:42, assisted by Bishop, narrowing Eastern's lead. The Eagles managed to extend their advantage with consistent scoring, concluding the first quarter with a 4-1 lead over the Owls.
- Bryn Mawr opened the second quarter with Addy Hansen scoring a player-up goal at 14:16, assisted by Bishop, marking her 16th of the season. The Owls encountered turnovers that allowed Eastern to respond with three goals, including one from a free position shot at 9:49.
- The Owls regained momentum with another goal from Hansen at 7:08, again assisted by Bishop. DeLisle found the net for the Owls at 1:18, bringing their quarter total to three goals. The quarter ended with Eastern leading 10-4.
- The Eagles opened the second half with three goals in the opening minutes until Hansen scored a significant goal for Bryn Mawr at 6:56, assisted by Maeve DeLisle. Despite this effort, the Owls faced challenges maintaining possession, with several turnovers throughout the quarter. Eastern capitalized on Bryn Mawr turnovers, securing a player-up goal at 5:23 and a late free position goal at 0:39. The quarter concluded with the Eagles leading 16-5.
- Bryn Mawr faced a challenging fourth quarter as Eastern's offense intensified with four additional goals. Despite efforts to regain momentum, including a draw control by Bishop, Bryn Mawr did not manage to capitalize on scoring opportunities, with shots going wide and hitting the crossbar. The home team secured the win, 20-5.
