BRYN MAWR, PA – Bryn Mawr lacrosse wrapped up their 2026 campaign on Friday afternoon at Applebee Field, falling to Marymount (Va.), 22–3. The Owls showed resilience with a pair of first-half scoring runs and strong defensive efforts under pressure, while the game also marked a meaningful moment as senior goalkeeper
Erica James took the field for the final minutes of her collegiate career.
How It Happened:
- Bryn Mawr fell behind early as Marymount opened the game with a five-goal run, but the Owls responded midway through the period with back-to-back scores. Annika Shankar got Bryn Mawr on the board with a player-up goal off an assist from Elliott Bishop, and Bishop followed with a free-position goal to cut the deficit to 5–2. Despite the surge, Marymount closed the quarter with three late goals to take an 8–2 lead.
- Marymount continued their offensive pressure early in the second, extending their lead with three quick goals (11–2). Bryn Mawr answered at the 9:37 mark when Addy Hansen converted another player-up opportunity, again assisted by Bishop, for the Owls' third goal. The Saints added four more goals down the stretch to take a 15–3 advantage into halftime.
- Bryn Mawr's defense faced heavy pressure in the third as Marymount scored four times while limiting the Owls to no shots in the period. Owls goalkeeper Brynn Cunningham and the defensive unit combined for multiple stops to slow the tempo at points, despite the Saints maintaining control.
- Marymount added three more goals in the final period while continuing to control possession. With just over six minutes remaining, James entered the cage for the final appearance of her career, marking a special senior moment in the closing minutes of the game.
