Seniors Chrismer and Gordon-Zigel Combine for Ten Goals Against Neumann

ASTON, Pa. – Seniors Natalie Chrismer and Miranda Gordon-Zigel combined for ten of Bryn Mawr's 13 goals Tuesday night on the road in non-league action against Neumann University. The Knights scored seven second-half goals to earn the tightly contested 18-13 win.

After falling behind 1-0 in the opening minute of the game, the Owls scored three consecutive goals to take an early 3-1 lead. Chrismer scored the first goal unassisted, while Gordon-Zigel handed-out an assist to sophomore Kathleen Magner before getting a helping hand on a goal from junior Melina Higgins, fifty-seconds later .

Neumann bounced back and put five straight goals in the net to regain the lead, 6-3. A few moments later, Gordon-Zigel netted two goals at 15:35 and 13:41, split by a tally from Neumann's Meghan Garsey. The Owls pulled within one, 7-6, when Chrismer scored on a free position shot at 12:31.

Over the final 11:30 of the half, the Knights outscored Bryn Mawr 4-2 to take a 13-8 lead into the half. Chrismer added her third and fourth goals of the game at 9:17 and 56-seconds, respectively. On the first goal, she got a helping hand from Gordon-Zigel.

Neumann came out of the intermission on fire as they tallied the halves first three goals; two came from the stick of Garsey. The Owls bounced back with a pair of goals from Magner, 1:11 apart, to pull the Owls within four, 14-10.

The Knights pushed their lead to five, before Chrismer scored her game-high fifth goal on the contest. It came at 17:20 and way of a free position shot.

Neumann added three more goals over the final 10-minutes of the game; but not before Gordon-Zigel found the back of the net, twice, with goals at 7:02 and 5:32.

Gordon-Zigel led the Owls with five goals and two assists, eight draws and eight ground balls. In addition to Chrismer's five goals, she won two draws and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the 8-meter line. Magner scooped-up a game-high 13 ground balls and 11 draws. Senior Kate Flaming posted seven saves between the pipes.

The Owls are back to action on Thursday, April 19, when they travel for the final time in 2012 when they visited the College of Notre Dame at 4:30 pm in Baltimore, Md.
