Owls Shine in the Cold at Oscar Moore Invitational

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Bryn Mawr track & field team braved chilly conditions on Saturday as they competed at the Oscar Moore Invitational, hosted by Rowan University. Awurabena Anane posted one of the biggest surprises of the day, earning a new PR in the 100m dash in a time of 13.14s. Anane's time currently lists her tied for 10th in the Centennial Conference and 23rd in the NCAA DIII Metro Region.

Highlights:
  • SPRINTS/HURDLES: Anane just barely missed finals running a PR 13.14s in the 100m. She was joined by teammate Mika Heshiki who qualified for the Centennial Conference Championships with a time of 13.66s. In the 400m dash, Megan McDonald took the heat win in a time of 69.72 for a new PR, with Kayla Spencer a close second (1:11.03). Dahlia Nemes rounded out the day running 1:17.18 in the 400IH.
  • JUMPS: Jess Johnson jumped 4.39m in the long jump and returned in the afternoon to jump 10.49m in the triple jump, where the junior place 5th. 
  • ENDURANCE: In the 1500m, Cora Rosin led the charge, finishing at a time of 5:35.68, while Emma Smirk ran 5:57.71. In the afternoon, McDonald returned to the track with teammate Phylicia Cannon for the 800m dash. McDonald turned in a time of 2:42.15, while Cannon finished in 2:47.74
