LANCASTER, PA- Bryn Mawr College swimmers put up an impressive fight on Saturday at the Centennial Conference Championships, with several athletes advancing to the finals and delivering strong performances.
Morning Session Highlights:
- Ella Cohn kicked off the day with a spectacular swim in the 400 yard individual medley (IM), setting a remarkable personal record of 4:49.79. Her strong performance secured a spot in the finals and further solidified her place in the College Top-10 record book.
- Jane Farrell delivered a solid swim in the 100 yard butterfly, clocking in at 59.22 to qualify for the evening finals. Also competing in the event were Shelby Jackson (1:02.61) and Dalia Ibrahim (1:02.86), both putting forth strong efforts.
- In the 200 yard freestyle, Ellie Berry secured her place in the finals with a time of 2:06.12, while teammate Lexi Mireider recorded a 2:12.26 in a competitive field.
- The Owls saw more success in the 100 yard breaststroke, as Maddie Sullivan delivered a 1:10.37 to advance to the finals. Kayla Bass also competed, finishing with a time of 1:22.47.
- Closing out the morning session, Maya Madden swam a 1:07.72 in the 100 yard backstroke, while Kayla Bass capped off a busy session by recording a 1:08.26 in her second event of the day.
Afternoon Session Highlights:
- The Owls started the evening strong in the 200 yard freestyle relay, as the squad of Berry, Farrell, Ibrahim, and Sullivan placed 7th overall. Their impressive time of 1:41.35 now stands as the second-best performance in program history.
- Cohn continued her success in the 400 yard IM finals, placing 13th overall with an improved time of 4:47.97. Teammate Felicia Pursner also swam in the event, finishing with a time of 5:01.19.
- Farrell had another standout moment, improving on her morning performance to place 10th in the 100 yard butterfly finals with a time of 59.10.
- In the 200 yard freestyle finals, Berry finished 15th overall with a time of 2:03.20, showing her endurance against a tough field.
- Sullivan capped off the night with a strong 11th-place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke finals, recording a new college personal best of 1:09.82.
