LANCASTER, PA -Â Bryn Mawr opened competition at the Franklin & Marshall Invite on Friday, taking on a deep field in the first session of the three-day meet. The Owls wrapped up day one in 13th place with 10 points and several season-best and top-10 program swims.
Morning Session Highlights:
- Pearl Shelton paced the Owls with a standout morning, placing second in her heat of the 500-yard freestyle to earn a spot in the evening finals with a time of 5:18.57. She also notched a season-best in the 50-yard free (26.04) to finish 54th overall.
- Adrianna Porter Meachem shaved four seconds off her previous mark in the 500-yard free, posting a new personal best of 6:04.36.
- Dalia Ibrahim continued her strong early-season sprinting with a season-best 25.64 in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Jane Farrell turned in a season-best performance of her own in the 200-yard IM, touching in 2:20.11.
Evening Session Highlights:
- The Owls opened the finals session with a major milestone in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the team of Maya Madden, Shelton, Farrell, and Ibrahim placed 24th and clocked 1:45.25 — the ninth-fastest time in program history.
- Shelton capped her day with a 23rd-place finish in a competitive 500-yard free final.
- Bryn Mawr closed out the night with the 400-yard medley relay, where Kayla Bass, Shelton, Shelby Jackson, and Porter Meachem combined for a time of 4:30.39.
