GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Bryn Mawr cross country team traveled to Stockton University earlier Saturday to compete in the annual Osprey Open. The Owls competed in the Women 6k Championships and placed 11
th overall to earn their first conference win of the season over Muhlenberg. Bryn Mawr finished within striking distance of regionally ranked DeSales and Ursinus.
Highlights:
- Senior Lauren Kitay finished 13th overall with a new personal record of 23:54.60.
- Sofie Prieto was the second Owl to finish with a time of 25:46.51. Behind her were first-year Rosa Carbon (26:01.59) and sophomore Cora Rosin (26:04.21). The efforts by both Prieto and Carbon tallied personal records as well.
- Sophomore Sally Jamrog competed in her first 6k as an Owl to finish top five for Bryn Mawr with a personal record of 28:46.25. This is Jamrog's first appearance in the top five for the Owls.
- Senior captain Sohini Sarkar (29:35.57) finished sixth for the team while first-year Emma Smirk raced in her first 6k with a time of 29:35.57. With a new 6k personal record, Smirk also finished in the varsity seven for the first time as an Owl.
- the Owls talleid five new personal records and two season bests in their second outing of the season.
