GETTYSBURG, PA- The Bryn Mawr cross-country team traveled to Gettysburg College Saturday to compete in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, where they faced a large and competitive field of more than 350 runners and roughly 45 teams. Drawing on composure, teamwork, and individual breakthroughs, the Owls registered a team finish of 16th place overall.
Highlights:
- Senior Eva Ackley once again proved a dependable leader, capturing a personal-best time of 24:28 over the 6K course to finish as Bryn Mawr's top runner.
- Close on her heels was fellow senior Sofie Prieto, who crossed the line at 24:33, contributing another strong result and reinforcing the duo's steady presence in the front of the pack.
- The Owls' momentum carried on with sophomore Alyson Bostrom, who notched a personal record of 25:28.90, and sophomore runner Emma Smirk, who recorded 26:38.70 — also a PR — to round out the scoring group for Bryn Mawr.
Bryn Mawr returns to competition on Saturday, November 1st for the Centennial Conference championships hosted by Gettysburg College. The meet will begin at 11:00 AM EST.
