Strong Showing for Track & Field at Rider Invite

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Bryn Mawr track & field team traveled to New Jersey earlier Saturday to compete in the Rider Invite.
 
Highlights:
  • SPRINTS: Kayla Camille had a season best in the 100m dash, running 13.82s, while teammate Nethmi Dharmasena tied her personal record at 15.67s. Camille doubled back in the 200m, where she earned a PR of 28.66s.  Adjoa Acquaah earned new PRs in both the 200m (29.38s) and the 400m (67.54s).
  • JUMPS: Jess Johnson qualified for Centennial Conference Championships in the pole vault, landing a collegiate PR of 2.60m. With the mark, Johnson became the first Owl to qualify for championships in all four of the jumping events in a single season. Molly Fancher jumped 4.56m for a season best and a new Centennial Conference Qualifying mark as well.
  • THROWS: Nora Steil continued her PR season, throwing 30.91m for a new PR in the hammer throw. Steil also competed in the shot put (8.65m) and the discus (24.17).
  • ENDURANCE: Luka Bati (5:14), Evelyn Cheng (5:14) and Cora Rosin (5:21) all set new PRs in the 1500m, while teammates Lauren Kitay (4:57) and Alex Rosen (6:49) both set season bests. Kitay's time qualified her for the Centennial Conference Championships. In the 800m, Ellie Schumacher (2:29) and Anna Lowrance (2:53) both set PRs as well. Schumacher's time also qualifies her for championships.
  • RELAYS: The team of Schumacher, Rosin, Bati, and Lowrance set their season best time in the 4x4, running a time of 4:47.06.
The Owls will return next Friday to compete in the Penn Relays.
