Track & Field Places 15th at Bill Butler

WEST CHESTER, PA – The Bryn Mawr track & field team competed in the Bill Butler Invitational hosted by West Chester University earlier Saturday. Almost every Owl earned a new personal record to help Bryn Mawr place 15th on the day.
 
Highlights:
  • Sprints: Nethmi Dharmasena ran a new personal record in the 100m dash (15.67s). Adjoa Acquaah set collegiate personal records in both the 400m (1:08.51) and the 200m (30.00s) in her outdoor track debut.
  • Jumps: Colby Rossmassler cleared 1.35m in the high jump to match a season best from last week. Jess Johnson (4.81m), Molly Fancher (4.25m), and Alex Deleuze (4.18m) all set season bests in the long jump. Johnson continued on to clear 10m in the triple jump to set a season best at 10.03m.
  • Throws: Nora Steil continued to improve in discus, throwing a season best of 26.15m. At shot put, Steil threw a new personal record of 9.15m to mark her first time over 9m this year. The junior rounded out the throws with a solid hammer throw of 28.17m.
  • Endurance: The 1500m group continued to impress with Luka Bati (5:24.22) setting the pace for much of the race and finishing with a season best. In the end, Ellie Schumacher (5:19.80), Cora Rosin (5:26.30), and Natasha Kwiatkowski (5:46.65) all set personal records. In the 800m, Malin Just finished 5th with a time of 2:26.46, a season best, and a mere tenth of a second off her lifetime personal record. Anna Lowrance ran 2:56.30 for a new personal record as well. Finishing off the endurance events on the track, Evelyn Cheng (19:32.69) competed in the 5k to set another personal record, her second in two weeks.
  • Relays: The 4x4 team of Schumacher, Just, Rosin, and Bati set a season best time of 4:34.52 to finish off the day.
The Owls will return next Saturday for the Rider Invite.
