COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Owls track & field team capped off this year's Centennial Conference Championships earlier Sunday, with the team posting plenty of strong performances on the final day of action in the event.
Kass Wojcik fought hard to grab a few points towards Bryn Mawr's team total thanks to a pair of strong performances in the 200 and 400 meter dash. In the 400, Wojcik put up her second-fastest time ever, finishing eighth to take a point with a 1:00.64. The senior then went on to take seventh in the 200 meter dash, running a 26.81 for another two points for the Owls.
In shot put, Sydney Collins had another strong afternoon. The junior posted a long of 10.54 meters in the event which, while not quite enough to get her into the finals, was still an impressive personal record.
Bryn Mawr also showcased a gutty performance in the 4x100 meter relay. The Owls suffered a spill during one of the transitions, causing the team to finish ninth in the event. However, Colby Rossmassler gritted through the pain, rallying and finishing off despite a pair of bloodied knees.
The Owls closed out the weekend with a massive season best in the 4x400 meter relay. The quartet of Wojcik, Kris Pasia, Bethany Quist, and Amelia McDonnell combined to run a 4:15.01 in the event, topping their previous fastest time of 2022 by 11 seconds. That time was also good enough for ninth place as the Owls beat out Muhlenberg in the event.
Overall, the Owls finished championships in tenth place, coming up just two points shy of McDaniel ahead of them.
Bryn Mawr will close out their season by taking a squad to the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet (hosted at Widener University) on Monday, May 16.
