MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr swim program traveled to Millersville University for a Saturday afternoon meet. The Owls claimed four top ten times and three individual wins, including one school record by Teagan Rooney. Although Millersville took the win 160-96, the Owls had an impressive meet against a strong Division II team.
Teagan Rooney proved herself once again Saturday afternoon as she finished first in the 200 breaststroke. Her time of 2:27.37 claimed Rooney a school record in the event. She also finished second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:16.80, beating her own record from last month.
Vivian Sandifer had notable performances in the freestyles. She finished second in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:52.09. Sandifer would later go on to claim an individual win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:29.46.
Jane Farrell was another Owl with a strong showing. Farrell finished with an individual win in the 100 butterfly (1:02.53), beating her own record from early November. Earlier in the meet, she finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:27.99).
Grace Wing also had a notable performance, claiming two top ten times and finishing second in two individual and two team events. Wing claimed the top third time in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.85. In the 100 freestyle, Wing finished at 56.27 to claim her second top ten time of the day. Wing also competed in the first and last event of the meet with different pairings between teammates Maya Madden, Rooney, Farrell, and Maddie Sullivan to finish second in the 400 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. Sullivan also finished second in the 100 breaststroke to reach a top ten time in the event (1:11.21).
Rachel Adlai-Gail, Kayla Bass, Katharine Briggs, Paige DiFronzo, Melanie Golden, Lauren Johnson, Maddie Lee, Zoe Miller, Felicia Pursner, Emma Rideout-Mann, Anna Roumiantsev, Rachel Schwartzer, and Emmy Wisz were also key competitors in today's meet.
Bryn Mawr had many individual successes on the afternoon, but Millersville took home the win 160-96.
The Owls will take a break from competition for the winter holidays and return on January 21st to welcome Franklin & Marshall to campus for a home meet.
