Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College scored fifteen times in the first-half as they rolled to an 18-7 victory over Bryn Mawr Tuesday night in Centennial Conference action.
The Shorewomen tallied the first goal of the game when Corinne Ziccardi scored an unassisted goal only 1:54 into the game. The Owls answered by scoring three consecutive goals by Natalie Chrismer (27:21) Miranda Gordon-Zigel (26:45) and Zoe Pond-McPherson (25:21) to give Bryn Mawr an early 3-1 lead.
Washington bounced back with back-to-back goals to tie the game at 3-3 with just under 18:30 to play in the opening half.
The Shorewomen tacked on twelve more goals before the end of the half to take a commanding 15-3 lead into the lockers. During that span, Washington's Rachel Bartee tallied four goals as Kalli Parish found the back of the net three times.
Liz Godorov netted the first goal of the second frame at 24:21. Less than a minute and a half later, Kathleen Magner scored an unassisted goal.
Following a pair of Shorewomen goals, Magner added her second of the game on a free position shot with 15:23 remaining to make the score 18-5. Three minutes later, Magner handed an assist to Katherine Kilmer who found the back of the net with 12:31 to play.
With 4:25 left in the game, Bryn Mawr's Zoe Fisher concluded the games scoring offense with an unassisted goal to pull the Owls within nine, 7-18.
For the Owls, goalie Kate Flaming made nine saves and scooped-up three ground balls as Hannah Lehman and Magner picked-up two each. Gordon-Zigel and Magner added five draws each.
The Owls return to action when they host arch rival Haverford College on Thursday, April 5, at 4:30 pm.
