Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Before the start of the Bryn Mawr-Gettysburg lacrosse game Saturday, the seven graduating seniors were honored and presented with a bouquet of flowers from their teammates and coaches. The honorees were seniors Mae Carlson, Natalie Chrismer, Kate Flaming, Miranda Gordon-Zigel, Emily Levine, Gabby Marangell and Zoe Pond-McPherson.
As for the game, the fourth-ranked Gettysburg Bullets used a 12-goal first-half en route to a 20-2 win over the host Owls.
The Bullets started the game by notching seven goals in opening 10-minutes of action. Gettysburg tacked on two more goals before Bryn Mawr final got on the board. Carlson took a pass from sophomore Kathleen Magner and blew her shot past back-up goalie Ally Duggan.
The Bullets tacked on three more goals to take a commanding 12-1 lead at the half.
Coming out in the second-half, Magner tallied her own goal on a free position shot at 26:53. Her shot flew past Duggan's right shoulder as Magner picked-up her 31st goal of the season.
Gettysburg answered by scoring eight unanswered goals over the final 25:05 of the game to claim their 14th win of the season.
In the net for the Owls, Flaming posted 17 saves on 45 shots. Flaming also scooped-up four ground balls Magner picked-up three from the turf. Manger won four draws as Gordon-Zigel took three.
Bryn Mawr closes out the 2012 season when they play host to the Rosemont College Raven on Tuesday, April 24, at 4:00 pm on Applebee Field.
