Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Senior Natalie Chrismer led the Owls with five goals Thursday afternoon when the Owls traveled to Baltimore to take on the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland University. With the five goals, Chrismer is one goal shy of the century mark as the Owls still have two more games left on the season.
The Gators opened the game by netting six goals over the opening 20 minutes of play. Following their first three goals, senior Miranda Gordon-Zigel scored an unassisted goal at 22:31. Her goal was the first of three on the afternoon. She also ended the day with four assists.
Over the final 10 minutes of the opening half, Bryn Mawr took control of the game as Chrismer scored twice and sophomore Kathleen Magner found the back of the net once. Chrismer's first goal came with help from Gordon-Zigel at 9:45 to cut the Owls deficit to four, 6-2.
Two and half minutes later, Magner recorded her 29th goal of the season with an unassisted tally. As the final seconds ticked-off the clock, Chrismer went between the pipes again with an unassisted goal with three second remaining. The Gator took a 6-4 lead into the lockers.
Chrismer hooked-up with Gordon-Zigel again to pull within one, 6-5, as the Owls netted the first goal in the second- half.
Notre Dame of Maryland University answered with four consecutive goals. Not to be out done, a pair of unassisted goals by Gordon-Zigel and Chrismer put the Owls right back into the mix of things.
After trading goals, including a Magner goal from Gordon-Zigel and two goals by the Gator, Bryn Mawr tacked on four more goals over a three minute span.
Junior Melina Higgins got help from Gordon-Zigel with 8:12 on the clock followed by senior Emily Levine scoring a free position goal at 6:43. Thirty-seconds later, Chrismer scored her 28th goal of the season and No. 99 of her career when she took a pass from freshman Zoe Fisher and placed it in the back of the net.
Bryn Mawr's final goal of the game came at 5:37, when Gordon-Zigel took a helping hand from to tie the game at 12 apiece.
With the game notched at 12-all, NDMU broke the tie to give the Gator the lead for good at the 5 minute mark. Notre Dame added an insurance just over a minute later as they picked-up their seventh win of the season as they topped the Owls 14-16 in the non-league showdown.
Posting five saves in the net for Bryn Mawr was senior Kate Flaming; she also scooped-up three ground balls. In addition to her seven point night, Gordon-Zigel won eight draws and picked-up four ground balls. Magner added nine ground balls and four draws. Everyone Bryn Mawr player that played recorded at least one ground ball.
The Owls will honor their seniors this Saturday, when Bryn Mawr plays host to #4 Gettysburg College at 1:00 pm. Before the game there will be a brief ceremony to honor the Owls' seven seniors.
