FREDERICK, Md. - The Bryn Mawr soccer team dropped a hard-fought battle to Hood College on Saturday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field. Bryn Mawr (0-2) found its defensive rhythm in the second half after struggling early but could not capitalize offensively in a 1-0 decision against Hood (1-1).
Highlights:
- Hood struck early in the fifth minute, as Elizabeth Poulson found the back of the net for what proved to be the game-winning goal for the Blazers.
- The Bryn Mawr defense settled in, limiting Hood to one goal despite the Blazers holding an 8-3 advantage in shots.
- Goalkeeper Lily Blackman turned in another strong performance for Bryn Mawr, adding four saves to keep the Owls within striking distance.
- Led by Beatriz da Silva, Lillie Schmelz and Adelynn Arroyo, the Owls generated scoring opportunities during the second half. However, Bryn Mawr was unable to find the equalizer as the Blazers held on for the 1-0 victory.
