BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr field hockey team extended its win streak to three games as it took down the University of Rochester, 2-1, at Shillingford Field on Sunday afternoon.

Highlights:
- It was a defensive showcase in the first quarter between Bryn Mawr (3-1) and Rochester (3-1) as the two sides combined for just three shots in the frame. The Yellow Jackets' Erin Foley notched the first shot of the game just two minutes in, which was turned aside by sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Wright. Addison Graupensperger posted the first shot for Bryn Mawr. The final 12 minutes and 30 seconds of the frame saw no shots from either side.
- The Owls opened the scoring near the halfway mark of the second quarter, capitalizing on their first corner of the contest. Carrie Povich inserted the corner to
Ilona Bender to start the play. The ball found its way to Julia Ward on the left side who fired a host on target that deflected off the stick of Povich in front of the net for the second goal of the season for the Paris native. Â
- Foley tied the contest for Rochester in the third quarter, driving into the circle and blasting a shot inside the left post.
- It took just 46 seconds for Bryn Mawr to respond as Graupensperger drew a penalty stroke for the Owls. Leya Patel stepped up to take the stroke for BMC, shooting the ball past the Yellow Jackets' Riley Leeser on the stick side to take a 2-1 lead.
- Bryn Mawr held off four shot attempts from Rochester across the final 25 minutes. Wright posted three saves on the day while the Owls finished the game with a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.
