MALVERN, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr field hockey team used a strong second half to take home a commanding, 6-0, win over Immaculata on Wednesday night.
 
Highlights:

• Bryn Mawr (4-1) took control of the offense early against Immaculata (2-3) in the first quarter, outshooting the Mighty Macs, 7-0, in the opening frame. The Owls kept up the pressure in the second quarter, firing five more shots at the Immaculata netminder, who tallied eight saves in the half.
• The offense finally managed to get one by the goaltender early in the second half on a corner as Delia Angulo Chen found Nadine Roddy who fired home the third shot of the corner to take the 1-0 lead.
• It didn't take long for the Owls to find the net again, as a reverse shot from Carrie Povich just two minutes later went off the blocker. The ball found its way to Leya Patel, who batted it out of mid-air for the games' second goal.
• Julia Ward recorded the third goal of the quarter for Bryn Mawr, taking a pass on the corner from Ilona Bender before driving the ball inside the left post.
• The Owls scored just 62 seconds into the fourth quarter as Addison Graupensperger finished a pass from Amanda Herrold on a scramble in front of the cage.
• Bryn Mawr scored its fifth of the game as Mary Stronach drove into the circle and found Haley Lawrence alone on the far post for the easy tap-in goal.
• The final goal of the game for the Owls saw Julia Ward fire a shot at the top of the circle, where it deflected off the stick of Stronach right to Lawrence on the goalline yet again to make it 6-0.
• Bryn Mawr outshoot Immaculata 28-0 with 21 shots on goal.

 
The Owls return to action on Saturday, September 19 as they head to Marywood for a 1 p.m. matchup in Scranton.
