READING, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team dropped a road bout to Alvernia inside Physical Education Center on Friday night. Despite several multi-point runs to keep with the Golden Wolves, the Owls fell in straight sets (25-18, 25-14, 25-21).

Highlights:
- Alvernia (3-1) grabbed hold of the momentum early, going on a 12-2 run to start the opening frame. A kill from Tula Reihman for the Owls (1-4), began an eight-point run that saw three aces from Amelia Chen and brought BMC within two. Bryn Mawr went point-for-point with the Golden Wolves, before a late run from the home team ended the first set, 25-18. Reihman posted three kills in the set while Adelaide Grace and Emma Loller each tallied two.
- The two sides were locked in an early back-and-forth battle to start the set, as the score made its way to 9-9. The Golden Wolves took hold of the momentum and took the second set, 25-14.
- Bryn Mawr fell behind early in the first set as Alvernia opened the set with a six-point run. Kills from Reihman and Grace got BMC on the board. The Owls stayed within arm's reach of the Golden Wolves during back-and-forth exchanges, but ultimately dropped the final set, 25-21. Amanda Hughes notched four kills in the set while Reihman recorded three.
- Reihman led the team in kills with six while Hughes finished the night with five. Loller posted a match-leading three blocks on the night while Chen tied for the match-lead in aces with three.
The Owls make the trip to Cedar Crest for its next matchup as they take on the Falcons on Wednesday, September 16 at 7 p.m.
