ORLANDO, FL – The Bryn Mawr College tennis team earned a tight 4-3 victory over Piedmont on Thursday morning at the USTA National Campus, using a strong doubles showing and three key singles wins to secure the match.
Highlights:
- Bryn Mawr opened the morning by claiming the doubles point, winning two of the three matches. Claire Emanuel and Kelli Eng set the tone at No. 1 doubles, earning a win to give the Owls early momentum.
- At No. 2 doubles, Sophie Fenster and Gioanna Zhao followed with another victory to clinch the doubles point for Bryn Mawr.
- In singles play, Bryn Mawr secured three wins to close out the match. Fenster delivered a key victory at No. 1 singles, giving the Owls an important point at the top of the lineup after battling in a three-set thriller.
- Zhao added another win at No. 5 singles with a 10-point victory in the third set, continuing her strong day after her doubles victory.
- Lily Braswell clinched the deciding point, winning 6-2,6-2 for Bryn Mawr with a win at No. 6 singles.
The Owls open their Centennial Conference play on Saturday, March 21
