HUNTINGDON, PA- Bryn Mawr fell to Juniata with a final score of 22-2 at Gibbel Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Although the Owls struggled offensively,
Brynn Cunningham recorded 10 saves against the Eagles.
How it Happened:
- The game began with Bryn Mawr's Maeve DeLisle scoring the first goal at 14:12, giving the Owls an early advantage. However, Juniata responded quickly an equalizer at 13:42, followed by a another at 13:13, putting Juniata in the lead. Juniata's offense continued to dominate, scoring back-to-back goals. Delisle secured another draw control in the middle of the quarter to halt the Eagles' momentum. Cunningham tallied five saves in the first alone. By the end of the first quarter, Juniata had established a commanding 11-1 lead over Bryn Mawr.
- Juniata dominated the second quarter, extending its lead with four unanswered goals. Bryn Mawr struggled to maintain possession with a suffocating Juniata defense. Cunningham picked up another save in the quarter, but the Owls trailed heading into the halftime break, 15-1.
- At the start of the third period, Juniata extended their lead with a few quick goals. Bryn Mawr struggled to convert opportunities, including a shot by Addy Hansen that was saved at 2:08. The quarter ended with Juniata leading 19-1.
- Juniata extended its lead in the fourth quarter, starting with three unanswered goals. Bryn Mawr responded with a goal from Hansen at 2:16, marking a brief offensive push. Cunningham stood strong in the net, and gathered a save. Despite a late save by Ditsky on Shannon Gonzalez's shot, Juniata maintained control, and the Owls fell, 22-2.
