Owls Fall in Three Sets to Shorewomen

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball dropped a Centennial Conference matchup to Washington College in straight sets inside the Class of 1958 Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
 
Highlights:
  • Tula Reihman got Bryn Mawr (5-8, 0-3 Centennial) on the board fist with a kill that sparked a 4-1 run to start the set. Washington (10-5, 1-1) responded with 6-1 run to take the 7-5 lead. The game of runs continued as Adelaide Grace and Reihman contributed kills as the Owls took the lead, 10-9. The two sides battled back-and-forth through the remainder of the set, before the Shorewomen went on a 6-2 run to take the opening frame, 25-22.
  • Bryn Mawr and Washington College exchanged points to a 7-7 tie to begin the second set. The Owls scored six of their first seven points on kills, with Divis notching four of them. Washington College posted six-straight to move ahead, 13-7, and never relinquished the lead as it took the second set, 25-17.
  • The Shorewomen jumped ahead early in the third set on the back of a 7-1 run. Bryn Mawr was able to break up a few Washington scoring runs with two-point bursts before 9-1 run handed the visitors a 25-10 victory to take the match.
  • Grace and Divis tied for the match-lead in kills as the duo each posted nine.  Emma Loller tallied six kills while holding a .462 attack percentage. Charlotte Mullen ended the night with 24 assists.
 
Bryn Mawr heads back on the road for the first time since September 24 as they head to Dickinson for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday, October 10.
