Volleyball Drops Road Bout to Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team was defeated in straight sets by Dickinson in a Centennial Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
 
Highlights:
  • Dickinson (12-5, 2-2 Centennial) grabbed momentum early to start the match, using four aces to power a 6-0, opening run. Bryn Mawr (5-9, 0-4) pulled back within three with a 4-1 run that saw an ace from Ameila Chen and a kill from Tula Reihman. A series of short runs from the home team powered them to take the first set 25-13.
  • The Red Devils jumped ahead to another early lead in the second frame, taking a 7-1 lead early on. Dickinson continued to slowly build its lead up to a 16-8 advantage. A kill from Reihman kickstarted a comeback for the Owls as Bryn Mawr went on a 9-2 run to move the score to 18-17. After back-to-back points from the Red Devils, Lucy Divis contributed a kill and an ace in a 4-1 run that leveled the score at 21 apiece. The Owls' comeback fell just short as Dickinson took the second set, 25-22.
  • Bryn Mawr carried its momentum into the third set, going point-for-point with the home team en route to taking an 8-7 lead. An 8-1 run from Dickinson moved the score to 15-9. From there, the two sides traded short runs back and forth before the Red Devils closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the third set.
  • Divis led the Owls with six kills and three aces while Adelaide Grace, Emma Loller and Abigail Quigley each finished the day with four.
 
Bryn Mawr is back on the court on Wednesday, October 14 as the Owls head to Muhlenberg for a 7 p.m. match.
