BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team battled closely with Johns Hopkins in a Centennial Conference (CC) match but ultimately fell in straight sets inside the Class of 1958 Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Highlights:
- Johns Hopkins (8-5, 1-0 CC) grabbed the early momentum, jumping ahead to a 4-0 lead. Tula Reihman got Bryn Mawr (5-7, 0-2) on the board with the first kill of the contest for the Owls. The two sides continued to traded points for much of the set before the 6-2 run for Bryn Mawr gave the home team its first lead of the set. The Blue Jays and the Owls went point-for-point down the stretch before the visitors rallied for four-straight points to take the first set, 25-23.
- Six different Owls recorded kills in the first set, including Lucy Divis who recorded three. Abigail Quigley tallied two aces and a solo block in the frame.
- Bryn Mawr got off to a hot start in the second set as Quigley got things started with a kill before Charlotte Mullen notched back-to-back aces. The Blue Jays went on a three-point run of their own to level the score. BMC made it 6-4 before a 9-2 run made it 13-8 for the visitors. Bryn Mawr and Johns Hopkins traded points back-and-forth for the remainder of the set with JHU narrowly edging out the home team 25-22.
- The third set saw the Bryn Mawr score first on a kill from Adelaide Grace. The Blue Jays then surged ahead on a 6-0 run. BMC cut down on the Johns Hopkins' lead eventually moving within two at 14-12. A few three-point bursts proved to be one too many as JHU went on to take the set 25-19.
- Divis led the team with nine kills on the day while posting an assist and a block assist. Grace finished closely behind with six kills. Emma Loller and Reihman each recorded five kills with Loller posting a .500 attack percentage. Mullen tallied 22 assists, two aces and a block assist in the bout.
The Owls close out their four-game homestand on Wednesday, October 7 as they host Washington College at 7 p.m.
