MEDIA, PA - Bryn Mawr traveled to Media, PA earlier Saturday to compete in a Penn State tri-match against host Brandywine and Abington. The Owls first matched up against Brandywine in a tight five-set, ultimately falling 3–2 in a contest. In the afternoon, Bryn Mawr against Penn State Abington, the Owls won the first set, but fell to Abington, 3-1.
Penn State Brandywine Highlights:
- Bryn Mawr dropped the opening two sets 25–16 and 25–19 as Brandywine's offense built early leads.
- The Owls responded with a strong third set, taking it 25–19 behind improved attacking and steadier serve receive.
- In the fourth, Bryn Mawr edged out a 26–24 win, showing resilience in a back-and-forth frame that forced a decisive fifth set.
- Emma Loller led the Owls with 15 kills, 10 digs, and four service aces to pace the attack.
- Amanda Hughes added nine kills and contributed 48 receptions on the back row, while libero play kept rallies alive.
- Anna Dravk set up the offense with 21 assists, and Charlotte Mullen chipped in with 16 assists and 12 digs.
Penn State Abington Highlights:
- Bryn Mawr claimed the first set 25–21 with 11 kills and team blocks Adelaide Grace, Loller, Elise Perry, and Tula Reihman to set the tone early.
- The Owls battled in the second but fell 25–20 as Abington's offense found rhythm and took control of long rallies.
- Penn State Abington surged in the third set with six service aces to overpower Bryn Mawr 25–10.
- The fourth set followed a similar pattern, with Abington using strong serving and balanced hitting to close out the match 25–11.
