BRYN MAWR, PA – In front of a lively crowd at the Class of 1958 Gymnasium, Bryn Mawr Volleyball battled Neumann University in a tightly contested non-conference matchup on Wednesday night. Despite strong defensive stands and multiple late rallies, the Owls ultimately fell 3–0 (25–23, 26–24, 25–18).
Highlights:
- The Owls came out strong, with Emma Loller and Tula Reihman finding early kills to push Bryn Mawr ahead 7–3. A service ace from Saya Feldman extended the lead, but Neumann stormed back behind key swings from Julia Solomon and a service ace run by Melissa Eddy.
- Bryn Mawr pushed the set to 23–24 after a late kill from Elise Perry, but Neumann held on, sealing the opener 25–23.
- The second frame turned into a thriller, featuring 12 ties and multiple lead changes. Bryn Mawr gained momentum midway through the set with an ace from Perry and a block combo by Perry and Julia Zimmerman-Boyer.
- Down 23–24, the Owls fought off set point thanks to Amanda Hughes' kill. But Neumann answered with back-to-back service aces from Kyla Sayson and a kill from Taylor Long to escape with the narrow 26–24 win.
- Bryn Mawr kept pace early in the third set, highlighted by Zimmerman-Boyer's back-to-back kills that gave the Owls a 12-9 lead. Hughes and Loller added key swings to keep the Owls within reach, but Neumann's serving proved decisive. Late aces from Eddy and Hannah Strohm fueled a 7–1 run that closed out the match.
- Loller led the offense with eight kills, while Feldman anchored the defense with 17 digs. The Owls also tallied seven total team blocks, with Perry and Reihman combining for six.
