BRYN MAWR, PA. – Bryn Mawr field hockey earned a 2–1 win over Susquehanna University on Wednesday afternoon at Shillingford Field, persevering through a one-hour weather delay to secure the result. Senior
Annick van Blerkom cemented her name in the history books after Wednesday's win, becoming the all-time assist leader in program history.
Highlights:
- The Owls struck first in the second quarter as first-year Carrie Povich tallied her second career goal off a feed from Addison Graupensperger. The assist earned Graupensperger her first career point.
- After the River Hawks tied the game early in the third, Bryn Mawr responded quickly. Leya Patel scored the eventual game-winner on a penalty corner, assisted by van Blerkom. The assist marked the 20th of her career and placed her ahead of Kate Martin, who has held the all-time assist record since 1999.
- After the weather delay, Susquehanna looked to make a final push, but goalkeeper Charlene Basque anchored the defense with three saves in the final frame. Basque finished with a season high eight saves as the Owls held off Susquehanna.
