Owls Fall Late to Rutgers-Camden, 2-0

BRYN MAWR, PA – The Bryn Mawr soccer team put up a strong defensive effort on Tuesday afternoon at Applebee Field, but two late second-half goals from Rutgers-Camden proved to be the difference as the Owls dropped a 2-0 contest.

Highlights:
  • Rutgers-Camden controlled the offense in the opening half until sophomore Lanie Thompson fired the first shot on goal for Bryn Mawr in the 23rd minute.
  • The Bryn Mawr defense, anchored by Hailey Ferrier and Jess Johnson, held Rutgers-Camden scoreless through the first 45 minutes, while goalkeeper Lily Blackman saved eight shots in the first half alone.
  • In the second half, the Owls generated more offense with shots on goal from Adelynn Arroyo, Beatriz da Silva, and Daniela Dosen.
  • Rutgers-Camden broke through late with goals in the 82nd and 83rd minutes to take a 2-0 lead. The Owls ran out of time to respond and the Scarlet Raptors grabbed the win.
