Bryn Mawr Drops Tri-Match Contests to Rutgers-Camden, Delaware Valley

CAMDEN, N.J. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team took the court twice on Saturday afternoon at the Rutgers-Camden tri-match, facing the host Scarlet Raptors and Delaware Valley. The Owls fell in both contests, dropping a 3-0 decision to Rutgers-Camden before battling through a five-set thriller with the Aggies.
Highlights against Rutgers-Camden:
  • In the opener against Rutgers-Camden, the Owls were led offensively by Emma Loller, who tallied a team-high nine kills. Senior Elise Perry added four kills, while setter Anna Dravk paced the attack with eight assists.
  • Defensively, Micah Sheppard and Charlotte Mullen anchored the back row with a combined 11 digs. Despite the effort, Bryn Mawr couldn't overcome a strong serving performance from the Scarlet Raptors, who notched 13 aces en route to set scores of 25-8, 25-18, and 25-17.
Highlights against Delaware Valley:
  • The Owls bounced back with energy in their second match, pushing Delaware Valley to five sets in a back-and-forth battle. Bryn Mawr opened the match with a 26-24, win in the first frame and took set three, 26-24, behind kills from Adelaide Grace and steady defense from Saya Feldman and Sheppard.
  • Loller again, led the offense with 11 kills, while Adelaide Grace and Perry chipped in nine and five kills respectively. Dravk and Mullen combined for 26 assists to fuel the attack. At the net, Perry and Julia Zimmerman-Boyer recorded multiple blocks, with Perry finishing with two solo.
  • The deciding set saw the Aggies edge the Owls 15-9, to secure the 3-2 victory (24-26, 25-23, 24-26, 25-19, 15-9). Bryn Mawr totaled 75 digs as a team, with Sheppard's 14 leading the way. While Dravk contributed 12 assists and two service aces.
