BRYN MAWR, PA- The Owls hosted the Mighty Macs of Immaculata University on Sunday afternoon at Shillingford Field. Bryn Mawr dominated during the match-up, scoring 10 goals which marks the most scored in program history.
Highlights:
- Bryn Mawr jumped out to an early lead with Lucie Burgess scoring at 5:06, and Maggie Barilla adding another goal at 12:20, assisted by first-year Carrie Povich. The Owls controlled the pace with seven shots to Immaculata's zero and carried a 2–0 advantage into the first break.
- During the second quarter, the offense surged with four more goals. Burgess struck twice with one goal at 19:48, assisted by Leya Patel and another goal at 22:06. Povich converted a penalty corner at 24:12, with an assist from junior Delia Angulo Chen. Camille Heynen scored her first career goal when she tipped in a shot from Annick van Blerkom. The Owls led 6–0 at halftime.
- Bryn Mawr maintained control with two more tallies in the third. Lauren Barlow received a pass from Burgess and scored. First-year Mary Stronach scored her first career goal at 41:52 to extend the score to 8–0. Immaculata managed its first shot on goal in this frame, saved by senior Charlene Basque.
- In the final frame, Burgess completed her stellar performance with her fourth goal at 46:33, assisted by Patel, and Ilona Bender added one more in the final five minutes of play, after Povich sent her a ball towards the goal. Immaculata broke the shutout with a late goal by Morgan Barnes at 57:31, making the final 10–1.
